Privacy Policy

Overview

Marbls runs entirely on this device. There's no account to create, no server this app talks to, and no third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK built into it. The people, circles, pins, photos, attachments, and voice transcripts you add are stored only in this app's local database on your phone.

What This App Handles

Everything the app stores is either typed by you or captured by you: the people you add and what you record about them (name, notes, traits, dossier text transcribed from your voice, photos, and key dates), the circles and places you organize them into, and any contact or document attachment you choose to link. The app has no way to verify any of it and doesn't try to.

On-Device Processing

Voice capture, speech-to-text transcription, and the extraction that turns your words into a saved person all run locally using Apple's on-device frameworks. None of that audio or text is uploaded anywhere. If you export your data (Settings → Export My Data), the file goes wherever you choose to send it using the system share sheet — that's your choice, not something this app does on its own.

Permissions

Microphone

Used while you whisper about someone during Capture, so your voice can be turned into text. Audio is processed on this device.

Speech Recognition

Used to transcribe that same whisper into text on-device, so you don't have to type.

Contacts

Used only if you choose to link a person's profile to one of your existing contacts, so the app can show that contact's info and let you jump to it. The app never edits your address book.

Camera

Used only if you scan a document to attach to a person's profile. Scans stay on your device.

Face ID

Used only if you lock an individual person's profile, so that profile can't be opened without your face. This does not encrypt the underlying data.

Notifications

Used for optional reminders you control in Settings — a weekly nudge about people you haven't spoken to in a while, and per-person reminders for key dates you add. These are scheduled and delivered entirely on this device; nothing is sent through a push service.

Places and Location

This app never asks for your location and has no background or when-in-use location access. When you search for a place to pin (Places), the text you type is sent to Apple's Maps service to look up matching addresses and points of interest — the same lookup Apple's own Maps app performs for any search. No name, profile, or other identifying information from this app is attached to that search; it's just the search text itself, the same as if you'd typed it into Maps directly.

No Sharing or Selling

This app doesn't sell, rent, trade, or share your data with anyone, because outside of that one Maps lookup, it has no mechanism to send your data anywhere in the first place. There's no ad network and no analytics.

Your Control

You can export everything the app knows about (Settings → Export My Data) as a file you control, and erase everything on this device at any time (Settings → Erase All Data). Uninstalling the app removes its local database along with it.

Children

This app isn't directed at children, collects nothing beyond what's described above, and has no account system or targeted advertising of any kind.

Changes to This Policy

If how this app handles data ever changes, this page will be updated to describe the new behavior before that change ships.
